searching satellite In 2 (771) error/45 seconds then tunes in???

I've had a technician look at this for several hours and the hypothesis is that this is a software issue, but here's what it's doing. I have a slimline dish and 3 receivers (2 DVR's and an HD Receiver).

Receivers:
HR24-200
HR20-700
H20

The issue is this: the HD signals for many channels (Espn, Espn2, many others) are showing a 771 (searching for signal) error, but the signal meters say the signal is great. On the H20, the channels tune in after about 3 seconds and are very clear, but on the DVR's they show a 771 error for about 45 seconds before tuning in. This is highly annoying when trying to change channels or return to a channel you just came from.

It was suggested that I do a new software download on all receivers, which I did, but the same issue persists. I noticed this issue in june and I've been unable to get it resolved since. I'm wondering if there is a way to roll back to a previous version of software to see if maybe that solves it?

There is one thing that may cause an issue, but it has never been an issue before. I have 4 TV's connected to the H20, but they're never used at the same time.

Any ideas anyone has are greatly appreciated!
 
That's not a software issue. Can you post signal strengths on all your satellites? Sounds to me like you have a bad connection to or from your dish or maybe a bad switch

Have either the technician or yourself swapped the input of the H20 receiver with either of the two DVR's and see if there is a change or no change with the H20 and the DVR. If the problem moves then it seems to be a cable problem or where the input part of the cable is connected. If the cables are connected outside then there is the possibility of corrosion. If the problem stays with the H20 then it is inside the H20. You have left out some other information such as legacy or SWM type system system. If a legacy system swap the BBC from the H20 with one from the DVR and see if anything changes. If the BBC from the H20 causes problems with the DVR then the BBC is bad.
 
Since it's all of your receivers/dvrs, I think it's the lnb. Just a guess.
 
The technician swapped out the BBC's and installed a new switch, but swapped back to my old switch when it did not help (SAM 6802 6x8 Multiswitch), we did not, however, change which box was hooked up where to see if the problem would follow. However, the problem is the same on all 3 boxes, just that the H20 comes in in 3 seconds instead of 45 like the dvr's after it shows the 701 error.

The dish is brand new as well (slimline), as he swapped that out thinking it was a signal issue with the older style dish I had.

Curiuos, and not the source of your trouble, but .... NO signal on the 99c is not right.

That was my first spot too. 99c is a national bird for HD. You need to start there. As said, start at the lnb and hen move your way inside.
