Second Home Installation

I've been a Dish customer for many years and recently purchased a second home.

There, I installed a Dish 500 dish someone gave me. I plugged in a Dish 301 receiver that was still active (from my primary residence) and, to my surprise, it worked great!

If I wanted to wire another room in my secondary residence, can I purchase a cheap receiver (like a 301) off of eBay, plug it in and expect it to work?

Any other considerations? Thanks!

Yes, but you'll want to check the serial numbers with Dish first to make sure there's no outstanding balance on it. You'll also want to take the receivers home to your primary residence when you're not at the second home and plug them into the phone lines so you don't get an audit.
