Service Call

Does anyone know if I can just flag down a Service Tech or if I see one out somewhere, can I have him come to house or do I have to call D*

You will need to call Directv. Those service techs have a daily work order and are lots of times over booked as it is. Plus they will not get paid for the call, of course unless you pay them cash. Most if not all will tell you they don't have time. Do you have a local retailer? You may have a better chance of getting same day service.

Yea it's not like they are driving around with nothing to do. You will need to call Directv, unless you want to pay the tech cash money.

Have them ship ot to a friend or relative. Then they send it to you.
You simply tell Directv that you travel a lot for work and you want the equipment drop shipped to a relative's or friend's house.

Cash will work for moving cable around and diagnostic stuff. The receivers are routed to some specific customer in most cases and tech are held responsible for their truck inventory. Not so much with materials.
