SES-11 ?

Hi guys I am a little confused on one satellite? My list shows SES-11 at 105w, but my receiver shows up as AMC-18? , Are they one of the same? Or do I have something set wrong? Looks like SES-11 was launched in 2017 and AMC-18 in 2006, any help would be appreciated thank you Jim Gauthier

SES-11 replaced AMC-18 at 105 °W and AMC-18 has since moved to 139 °W. The Ku part of SES-11 is known as EchoStar 105, but SES-11 and EchoStar 105 are the same satellite. All you need to do is manually update the names in your receiver if you want them to be accurate.

I've always wondered why a satellite with such a good otbital slot and Ku footprint like 105 seems to go so unused.

The satellite names change over time so best to use the orbital location (97W, 105W, 111W, etc) in your receiver and when posting as that usually does not change.
