Should Download Speed be the Same on Laptop and iPhone??

Anyone know??

Mine is not even close. Laptop close to 3 Meg and iPhone not even 1/2 Meg.

It seems I read that the iPhone has a max download speed of 7 Meg over WiFi.

my Iphone 3G is not as fast a regular computer on any network as far as i can tell.
I began to think 3G really sucked until I tethered my iphone to my laptop with the usb connector and realized my laptop hauled major butt on 3G! I found a website with a free download to activate the tethering feature of the latest firmware upgrade.
I know "Ay Tee and Tee" don't like it but i do use it occasionally. you just don't want any large or unreasonalbly large file transfers while tethering or their panties get in a bunch.
