Fox (the network) loses money on the show, but the show still makes money overall for the company, because the producer is Fox as well.

I think as long as the staff wants to keep doing the show, Fox isn't going to cancel it. Despite the quality decline, it still averages around 7 million viewers which is still OK for a sitcom. Besides what's Fox going to replace it with? Another Seth Macfarlane show?

I'm hoping they don't come out with the Quagmire show, the Cleveland show was bad enough. But, yeah, The Simpsons is one of those shows we put on just for noise while we're doing other things. Bob's Burgers seems to be about the only cartoon that is enjoyable anymore.
