The Russians sucessfully launched Sirus FM-5 last night.
Sirus FM-5 will be located in a geostationary orbit and work in conjunction with the 3 non-geostationary Sirus satellites .
Their FCC filings say that reception will be improved. Apparantly, at present, the 3 nongeostationary Sirus satellites have time periods when at least one of them is not providing strong signal strenth in several areas of the country..
Sirus FM-5 will have a high "look angle" reducing obstruction by buildings and trees.
It should be active within a couple of months.
