Skype video calls are now possible on iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad!

Skype has just released a new version of its iPhone App, which makes video calls possible! At last!!!

And yes, it does work over 3G, not just WiFi!

TIP: If making calls to/from your computer, make sure to upgrade your Skype version there as well. The older version may not be compatible with the iPhone App. At least I couldn't answer 3G video calls from my iPhone until I updated the version on my netbook.

By the way, this new version 3 of Skype also works on iPod Touch and iPad!

A word of caution to those with 200 MB 3G data plans: Skype video calls can consume your entire monthly allotment in less than an hour!

I had to chuckle about the "on the iPad" portion. What does the other side see if you try a Video Skype call with your first-gen iPad?

I downloaded the app today and I'll have to try it out. Great. Another reason to need to wear clothes all the time!
