PM me if you want a map reference. It's due east of San Diego about 50 - 75 miles. It's pretty in the spring. I don't know what governor Jerry has done lately but it is a state park where camping is OK on any of the hundreds of miles of 4X4 trails as long as you are less than a car length off the trail and not smashing significant vegetation. No fires (it is Calif). No loaded firearms. No ATVs though an OFRV area is adjacent.

TY. But it looks like I'm going to be not only east coast bound, I'll be making very short trips only, if any.

TKS. It's been a few years since I visited Groton. Got a lot of memories there.....

Nothing like being in the tank in mid winter!

I just finished a box of killer good The Gorton Fisherman Fish Sticks with tartar sauce! Did them in the toaster-oven and they were crunchy and great!

Small world.

I was there April - June '57. The tank was down so I had to wait until I got to Pearl. :) And it snowed that April. One of several reasons I requested Subpac for all 3 choices on the dream sheet.

And you actually got it! The Wheel Of Detailing must have smiled upon you! ;)

Did it twice in the winter of '59. Had a head cold the first time but tried anyway. Sure enough, I couldn't equalize and ended up with a bleeding ear. I did it again 2 weeks later and was OK.

Whatever happened to Smithsonian Channel? I have it on DTV and if Dish adds it, I will switch to Dish for the new Hopper receiver. Also, is Fox Movie Channel in HD yet?

Nothing ever came of Smithsonian's return. Nothing recent I've seen to indicate it will.

It couldn't cost Charlie more than 25 cents a month, put it in the BB package. They have an Aerial America series in HD that is fantastic, like being there.
