Do a search on this forum for primestar and add different words like lnb to see what you get

Good luck and please post a picture of the farm when you get it set up.
Thanks
Ok so after having a couple hours to play with one of these dishes, I am a bit bummed with my results. I was using just one of the regular Dishes not the 1 meter. I was trying to modify it so I could do the Glorystar system.

So with lots of measurement I am sure that the LNB's are in the same location as the original. I was only able to get signal on one LNB, and very low at that. So I made a couple more modifications and was able to lock onto AMC4 with good signal, but no better than what I was able to get with my modified 1000.4. But atleast with the 1000.4 I was able to get both AMC4 and Galaxy 19.

So is the Primestar basically only able to get 1 satellite at a time? From what I can tell thats what it is. Would I have more luck with the 1 meter getting both satellite's? It will be more to modify that 1 meter, but I think it can be done.

You need to be able to skew a dish to get more than 1 sat at a time. There is a mod to do that using an E* dish mount & adapting it. It's somewhere in the FTA area about the mod.

Yes I have the bracket that mounts on the Geosat 90cm dish. So I can skew the LNB's. I used the same mount with great success with the Modified Dish 1000.4

I know where three unused Primestar dishes are in my area but none of the owners are eager to get rid of them. Any tips on how to convince them that the dishes are no good to anyone ... except us of course. :)

Black ski mask, black long sleeve shirt, black pants, black shoes and the Mission Impossible them song playing on your ipod.

One I found is at a abandoned house too and I cannot locate the owner!

Try public records online. My county clerk's website has a database of all the properties and their owners including the owner's address if it is different from the property address. Might be worth a look.:up

The term "Primestar" brings two types of dishes to mind, and in various sizes.
Plus, some people incorrectly call other dishes, Primestars, when they are quite similar but not identical.
If you'll post a picture and some measurements of your dish and mount, we can give better advice.
Getting two birds on most of them shouldn't be a serious problem.

Here's just one case in point (just look at the pictures, no need to read the thread)
Linuxman and dual Sky Mexico LNBs on 87 / 97

Here's another thread where Wes wanted two birds really close together:
WescoPC and 2° birds on a 1.2m dish:

Neither is necessarily the answer to your problem, but both should give you confidence that somewhere on the forum, someone HAS done whatever you are trying to accomplish! - :up

I have a Primestar Dish I use for Glorystar. I have 2 LNBs strapped together. The main LNB is pointed at G19 and the other one is strapped to the side for AMC 4.

I get good signal form both Satellite.

Well I have not really had time to mess with the PS dish since my last post....But

I was out doing an upgrade, customer was swaping out to a HDDVR. When I pulled up I saw they had the old side car dish and at first I was like man this sucks cause now I have to change the dish. Then I got to thinking 99 to 103 hmmmm 4 degrees of seperation... THe light Bulb goes on!

So here is my latest modification to get my Gma a Glorystar system on the cheap. This works even better than the 1000.4 and has almost the same signals I was getting with the Geosat dish from Glorystar.

The LNB mount is temp, I will craft a new arm soon. Then this will be off to grandma's.
