--Hi, all. Perhaps it is my receiver or LNB, but is something going on with satellite X4? It seems like half of my channels are gone. At first I thought it was a problem with my LNBF only seeing one polarity, but some of the channels I get are V, and some of them are H, so I know my LNBF is not "stuck" at one certain polarity. Another weird thing I see with X4 is that on channel 580 where Bloomberg should be, I am getting a PPV channel, and the movie they are selling is called "Latin Spice", for $8.99. So, I am wondering, is it a problem with my receiver or, with the upcoming move to the AMC-18 satellite in June, are they moving some channels to that satellite (AMC18), and putting totally different channels on X4? Thanks.

If I go to Bloomberg on 251 (This is a Skyvision DSR410 Box) I get a message saying "Please wait a moment we are processing your request.

BTW this is the first time EVER my guide has worked on the DSR410! Yippie! (Well no program listing but at least I know which channels are where now. :D

My X4 is fine. Went to Bloomberg and it shows a sub is required which is right for me. Good Quality on all transponders. Has to be on your end. The channels are being mirrored on AMC-18 and not effecting X4.

What's your quality on the channels your not getting? Usually when you get the message your getting either the quality is very low, or there is alot of drift in the lnb and it's searching for the frequency.

--Hi. The quality is "1" on the channels that do not come in. I've been tinkering with the dish, so the quality is not as good as it was before, but it's still in the 60's (it was in the high 80's/low 90's before I adjusted it). Perhaps some water got in the LNBF and froze last night and messed it up somehow. One thing I have noticed is that I can slightly turn the LNBF and I get a signal. Then, after a few minutes (or seconds), it will lose signal again. I think I will get a new LNBF and see how that goes (even if the LNBF in not the problem, it doesn't hurt to have an extra for backup)

Maybe the polarity switching is frozen. Take the LNBF off bring it inside for a few hours then go put it back on the dish, you may get lucky :)

hi ...is the switching affecting new subscribers ? i have pointed my 6 ft dish to x 4 and cannot get the red icon to go green...this is a reciever that bought only last week from skyvision...need some help please..thanks

Nothing is supposed to leave X4 for quite a while....things are just going to be simulcast on C-band, and that's where the changes are right now.
It sounds like LNBF switching problems to me, on the existing X4 system.

--Well, like TRROPRO said, it's probably on my end. I just ordered one of those new Techsat Tracker .2dB LNBFs, and I HOPE that will remedy the problem, if not, I truly hope it's not the receiver (it's still under warranty, though). I suppose it's possible that there is an occasional loose connection in a coax end somewhere, which would be a cheap/easy fix.

--Trini143: As far as I know, I am the only one on this forum with this particular problem, so it's probably on my end. I went with Skyvision as well, and the customer service is great, and at the time of purchase, they had the best deal on my Motorola 922. Keep working with your dish, it just sounds like it's not peaked yet. The dish I use is a KTI 8.5 footer (I got it from Skyvision, and they advertise it as a "Skyvision" dish, but it's really made by Kaultronics Inc. I HATE paying full price for anything, but I pretty much had to purchase a dish "brand new", because everyone around here that had Big Ugly Dishes didn't want to get rid of them. I remember I went to this one house that had a nice condition 6 foot dish just sitting on the ground. I asked the owner of the house if he would be willing to sell the dish and he said "No, I will use it". Well, six months later, the dish panels are full of holes...about half of the dish panels are destroyed now. Oh, well.

New problems here.....any advice?

--I don't know what the problem is with my receiver, but I was seeing what was on X4, and the ONLY thing on is a hockey game between UMD and WIS. I get the same exact game on channels 440, 582, 603 and 644. Mind you, these are on satellite X4, DCII channels, however, the DC light does NOT show up on the front of the receiver. Is it time to have warranty work done on my receiver? Ugh!

--NOW, I am beginning to think it wasn't the LNBF all along, but something screwy on the KU side of the receiver. Earlier in the day there was a PPV porno (I'm guessing, because it was called "Latin Spice" and they wanted $8.99 for it, lol) movie on channel 580. I truly hope this is a temporary thing, as I don't want to have to send it off for warranty work.

--Forgot to add, it reads "W Sports" on the top of the screen.

EDIT: FYI, my C Band analog works just fine, as does C Band DCII stuff (The DCII light is lit up on the C Band DCII stuff)
Another thing I noticed was that I am unable to adjust the KU LNB offset when using my regular KU LNB (Not LNBF). However, I am able to adjust my C band LNB. Weird
