Sony Is Ceding Control of TV Hardware Business To China's TCL

This is crazy, but I kinda saw this coming. I had a 49" Sony go out. I wanted a new OLED. Sony hadn't produced a new model in that size in 4 years (it's a bedroom tv, so not like i'm trying to blast my eyeballs in a small room). I went with an LG instead. Sony was famous for having TOO many models in TOO many sizes.

Sad, because they made the best video processor of any of the major brands
Sony's processor may still be the best in certain scenes, but LG has pretty much caught up for most content, and Samsung is only a half step behind. I don't see it as the differentiator it used to be, and I think that is a big reason why they are spinning this product line off.
