Anyone else been getting a screen that says:

--------
Sorry for the interruption.

There is no need to call us, we are aware this channel is unavailable and are working to get it back.
--------

This has happened to me a couple of times in the past week when watching locals (sat 121). Last night it was ABC when Extreme Home Makeover was on. The weird thing is, the channel kind of fades to this message. It's not like the broadcast is lost and they stick the message up when the feed goes dead. There's no video, but I still get audio of the program. What's going on?

That sounds like an issue at the source (the TV station) if you still get audio

Well, it happened on two different stations, ABC and NBC. The message is generated from Dish, not the networks.

It sounds like my DMA (Wichita Falls, TX, Lawton, OK) the local antenna that Dish must be using cuts out a lot. Lose picture (and occasionally audio) and get the notice up on the screen for a few seconds. Almost like the antenna is twisting in the wind.

Happened awhile back on all our locals (SD). Within 30 minutes they came back. Just letting you know they have a problem and are working on it.

All the locals for Mobile, AL DMA (except for 42 PBS, it's on a different spotbeam) just went down approx. 10:55pm tonight, now the slate is showing. I wonder if the uplink reports show any activity?

It happened here a few months back. Theye put on the screen that there is no need to call them because they do not want flooded with calls and want it well aware that calling them will do not good as htey already know what is going on. In the past people would think that there is an issue on their end or that Dish Network was having issues and was not aware of the problem.

if i had to guess encoders isn't the answer. more then likely it's loss of signal from local station to dish uplink. we had this a few days ago. the local was have trouble with their transmission equip and we got this messege for a few mins. wife watches locals and then complains they look so poopy. i told her that the messege screen looked good though. :P

Be sure to call the stations. Customers usually complain just to Dish, but broadcasters need to know. They all have phone numbers to the Dish control room and their boradcast supervisor who schedules trouble calls. Their antennas should not be twisting in the wind, but should have a good signal from those stations in Erie.

I got this message while watching a local from Augusta Ga so this does not appear to be a local station problem since we're getting this message all over the country. I agree Dish is doing something.

DISH Limits? DVR's? Receivers?

TNT HD Got it right!!
