but now I got it back... and all is good.

I mounted the dish (Not on the ladder) but I have one
(dumb) question.... or may be two. And I have made
a couple of changes. I have the same dish as before, but
now I have added a SW and an 18" dish.

1) In So Cal what can I get that has world news? I can
understand a few languages. I do have a good So.
clear sky but the dish is on the wall, and not motor drive.

2) I have a guy a few doors away that would like to get
LBC. Is that possible, and if so what sat?

Thanks
Jon

2) LBC (the Lebanese Broadcast Channel, right?) is available as a subscription channel from Dish Network, so the guy a few doors down should have no trouble calling them to subscribe. He'll need a Superdish, but the installer ought to be able to take care of that for him.

There may be exceptions, but it's a good general rule that any international programming available by subscription will not be available FTA. And we're talking about legal uses for your equipment, right?

alot of the international stuff is on IA5 (T5 at 97W)

check out www.lyngsat.com for all the channels. The stuff that are light yellow colored are free to pick up (the number in the left column must be 5 digits to pick up with a 30" dish)

carload, Yes ligit stuff. But last time I picked up a bunch of Arabic channels. So LBC (Yes, you are right) is sub Only?

There has to be a number of news channels in the FRA group, yes?

Iceburg, thanks, I go to that site all the time. I'll try IA5 (T5) tomorrow...
