Sparky Anderson passes away

RIP Sparky. I have a lot of good memories from the '76 Reds, and a lot of bad memories from the '84 World Series when the Tigers beat my Padres. He was always a class act.

Sad day indeed, was very outgoing and a great manager, will never forget the 35-5 start will be missed! :(

The name, the look , he was born to be a baseball manager. I had great respect for the man . Hard to believe he was just 76 . Rest in Peace.

I'm surprised that he lasted this long. He looked 80 when he was 40.

He was a riot as a color man on radio during the 1986 baseball playoffs. He liked to ridicule the Red Sox for being a team of Clydesdales.

Remember when he told the umpires that he had a film in the clubhouse, ready to go, showing that Luis Tiant had two different pickoff moves, and that one of them was a balk? He later admitted that he had no such film but he was sure they wouldn't agree to look at it.

R.I.P.
George "Sparky" Anderson

As a Big Reds fan growing up and Tigers fan as well all my life, you've been a large part of my baseball experience.

Thank you for the memories. :)
