Jim teases us by saying that there will be a Special new Programming Announcement today... (Hmm!)

WHile not for consumers, Dish has changed their chargeback period for retailers making the FlexTV and DHA-TOO promotion a lot more pallatable to retailers. This is a good move...

Here we go with the programming news..

Joining us is Ira Bahr from Marketing who is wearing a NFL jersey.

NFL Red Zone is coming on September 13. It will be available in HD and SD, it will be included in the Multi-Sport package for $5.99 a month.

Who needs the NFL Sunday Ticket when you can see every score and every exciting moment from every game.

A Red Zone commercial is shown.

Correction.... You need to have AT200 plus the $5.99 Multi Sports Package to get the Red Zone channel.

That's cool they put it in the MultiSport. Adds some good value to that package, and the rest of us don't have to pay for it.

What if you have the everything package plus the multi sports package will you still get the red zone----correction you should get the red zone if you have the everything package. Charlie you better make this package a valuable deal or you may see subs dropping it.

They are now going over how retailers can advertise the NFL Red Zone channel and what the rules are... For examle you can't mention the words "out of market" or Sunday Ticket in your ads....

Yes AT200 or above, plus the multi sports package will get it.

Guess that means the only new HD we will see soon is the NFL Red Zone channel.

With the everything package you get your local RSN/s. It sounds like the Red Zone will be part of the Multisports package as an addition. That way you will still need to sub to MS to get Red Zone.

What satellites will they use for standard & HD red zone channels?

No idea... They didn't announce that.

But if your getting standard programming from the Western or Eastern Arc then you should be pointed at the correct place.

Given the Red Zone channel will only exist for 17 Sunday afternoons, I'm thinking this will head to the part time RSN bandwidth.

I'm wondering if BBC-A et al. were going to be announced, too, but the apparent loss of TP 12 on 61.5 has forced them to delay until E6 can get over there.

Red Zone is huge like Scott said. NFL Sunday ticket is around $200+ extra on DIrect. This is the next best thing. Makes sense that they moved Fuel from 155 to 156.
