Would you post here more often if it didn't take about 30 seconds for each page to open up? SatelliteGuys has always had the slowest page openings of the several satellite-related forums I participate in, no matter what computer, browser or internet sercice I use, but since these ESPN score bars were introduced, it is now slower than ever.

I always suspected that it was attributable to denser advertiser graphics, but I also see dozens of URLs flash by in the lower right hand border of the viewed page before the desired page finally opens, whereas the other forums do not have that.

How fast is your internet ?

I never have any problems opening pages ...

I don't know if I can post any more in the forum than I already do.

Pages load just fine...of course, I'm a Pub Member so I am not subjected to the ads.

Same here, maybe thats what he's talking about.

There have been times when pages load slowly, but they are usually expected as Scott and company mat be working on the site, other than that, no issues.

I have no problems opening up pages. Fast as lightning here at work and at home as well as on my phone.

For the membership status that makes the ads go away. Everyone who has posted in this thread is a Pub member or staff, so none of you have to download all the ads that I do to open each page.

You are missing the point.

There are no ads today for registered members.

If your seeing ads (Besides the one up in the upper right) then you have something wrong with your machiine or browser.

I hadn't evaluated the page loading speed today, but as recently as yesterday, each time I tried to open a topic, the ESPN scorebar would appear in a few places scattered over the page before it opened, and as I said, dozens of URL addresses would flash across the bottom of the screen before the page opened. I see today that the pages are opening faster than ever.

I just noticed this at the top of a page:

Reminder Ad's Return Tommorow

Its a secondary one I made a long time ago when folks have issues exactly like this. Its easier to log into that to check issues with the ads or forum issues

But as to the question
"Would you post here more often if the pages opened faster?"

I think there should be a different poll
"Would you post here more often if you knew some of the sports posters wouldnt lynch you for your view?" :)

Back to 8-15 seconds per page load today with the ads, versus a couple of seconds per page yesterday, without the ads.
