Mixed 2 in with half an onion and a clove of garlic in the food processor then added to 1 lb lean ground beef for tacos now and 2 burritos for work... has heat (they were listed as Hot)not sure on flavor though, will have to mix with scrambled eggs to test later.
Put a couple in the crock pot with beans, bacon & 2 hotlinks... be able to tell at breakfast time how these are.

The beans don't have that much heat, just finished a bowl.
I loves me some Hatch chilies! A few weeks back the local market in town had them fresh. You have to roast them yourself. I buy mine, chopped, in 4 oz cans from Trader Joe's. I get 'em 10 cans at a time. At 79 cents a can, ya can't beat it!
With what little rain we got this summer (humidity) my red chile stash has shown symptoms of going south, will have to get some of those when they start showing up I imagine...
Ok that makes sense. I knew I had never heard of them, except you mentioning them on here. Is there any difference than ones you grow at home?
Texas & Mexico and probably California grow them but these are special due to the soil, weather, climate etc... like alfalfa grows better in some places than others.
I haven't seen them here yet. I have seen them getting the stands up and roasters out, but no sales.....

Passed by Hatch on I-25 Monday, but we were pressed for time and couldn't stop plus didn't have room or the real ability to deal with anymore chiles...
We were in my truck loaded for and going hunting...

Nah, we traveled / got onto by accident, part of the El Camino Real de Tierra Adentro, Jornada del Muerto http://www.nps.gov/elca/photosmultimedia/traveling-the-trail.htm between Rincon NM and Truth or Consequences NM and passed thru Hatch on the way back to Las Cruces, then headed to El Paso to take the back way into some country we hunted the day before...
