Hey guy's, I'm new to this and was told you are the guy's to talk to.
I just purchase a sv-hd8000 sonicview receiver and hooked it up via the intstructions. The satellite I have is a DTV unit that came with the house. Anyway, I went to menu to use the signal indicator and that was 68% but I do not get anything on the quality and a no tv channel error. Is this due to sat. direction (I tried changing it using the signal stat on the receiver)?
Thanks for your response,

well that DTV satellite dish will not work for ya.. U need a bigger dish like 30" or 36" with KU LNB

Direct TV and Dish Network use a circular LNBF. Whereas, most of the dishes for FTA reception in America use a linear LNBF. You could use a circular LNBF for sat reception for the Atlantic region of the sky but as pro96 said you need a larger dish.
