How can I expand from 8 lines to 16?

I have a single wire swa from the antenna.

If you order a receiver from DIRECTV that would cause you to need a SWiM upgrade they will do that for free as part of the installation. Else you'd have to buy a non-SWiM LNB, the SWiM16 and run the extra coax yourself.

You need to change the LNB and get a SWiM-16 and a 29v PI.
