I have had an H20 receiver for some time, along with a 5 LNB AU9 SlimLine dish. I am feeding only one receiver. I want to upgrade to a DVR, and I want to know if I can I retain my present dish & LNB, and what other hardware I will need.

It never hurts to ask DTV, but they probably wont give you the SWM upgrade for free with only one household DVR (even if you keep the H20 for another room). You can always purchase the SWM-LNB or SWM-8 multiswitch yourself & have the installer hook it up but that might be a little pricey for just 3 cable runs. Having said all this, the AU-9 is compatible with the SWM-8 via a direct 4 cable connection & the mast/dish is compatible with the SWM-LNB by just removing the old LNB assembly & putting the new one in it's place. Both units require a powered amplifier (110v source...the thing with the holes in the wall). :D
