Speculation is that it is the deal they made with Apple to put in Apple mini stores.

That oughta increase foot traffic in their stores. Gee- instead of Apple renting space, maybe Target will pay them to be a tenant.

Is "Tar-zay" high-end enough of Apple though ? I know you can buy iPods there, but you can also buy them at Wal-Mart. I consider Target no different than Wal-Mart except they like red vs Wal-Mart's blue scheme.

Since iPhones are trying for and somewhat getting a grip on lowest common denominator, I think Apple is trying to grab more market share with other products. They already have iPads in Walmart, as well, and we all know they ain't cheap!
