Some Canadian input EH???

I live approximately 25 miles from Niagara Falls New York and 35 miles from Buffalo New York.

Using a Winegard Square Shooter with amplifier SS-2000 this what I get all in the high 70 to 80% signal strength on my Bell ExpressVU 6100 (DISH 811).

I only save the digitals because the analog tuner is sheit and who cares about them anyways ;)

Have heard that some people in western Lexington can pick up Louisville stations at
night. I live on the eastern side and haven't been able to get a lock on them with my 6000.

They must have strong antennas then, as all but 1 station I believe's HD towers are on Floyds Knobs, IN, 10 miles NW from me. One is just south of the river in Louisville.

WAVE 3 (NBC) Strong HD 1080i signal at night, none during the day

WHAS 11 (ABC) Strong HD (I think 720p) at night, SD during the day

KET 15 (PBS) Ok HD, not sure on the aspect ratio and format. I get a ton of PBS digital channels though

WLKY 32 (CBS) Weakest of my OTA HD, 1080i only at night, SD during the day.

WBKI 34 (WB) No HD that I know of.

WDRB 41 (Fox) No HD, Does not pass widescreen.

WFTE 58 (UPN) No HD.

I live in S. Austin, Texas 15-16 miles from the towers(use an indoor Radio Shack Double Bow-Tie)

Milwaukee Wisconsin Area Stations

4-1 WTMJ-DT (28d) NBC (full power)
6-1 WITI-DT (33d) FOX (very low power)
10-1 thru 6 WMVS-DT (8d)PBS (multicasting high power)
12-1 WISN-DT (34d)ABC (half power but good)
18-1 WVTV-DT(61d) WB (low power but good signals)
24-1 WCGV-DT(25d) UPN( low power good signal but no HD yet, should be this week)
30-1 WVCY-DT (22d) Religous (low power, no HD)
36-1 WMVT-DT (35d) PBS-HD (low power but good sigs)
55-1 WPXE-DT (40D) PAX (no HD but better than there analog sigs)

Just a note Milwaukee's 2 PBS stations were the ones that did the original ATSC tests with Zenith. Also they were the first station (35d) to get a waiver so they didn't have to simulcast the analog signal because they have 2 DT stations and the one is multicasting and the other is 100% HD.

WRAL is great. The best HD pic that I have ever seen. Local news in HD. Wonderful.
CBS - 75-80%

WTDV. Watching MNF right now. PQ is great. THey do HD. My only prob. is that they seem to like to flip the switch back to SD with about 5 minutes left in Boston Legal.
ABC - 72-78%

WNCN. They do broadcahst HD as Las Vega in in HD now, but they forget to flip the switch a lot. Las nihgt Skrek was not in HD and from AVS I here it was in other places.
NBC - 65-69%

WRAZ. Beatuiful 720p. Football is great. They know when HD is on. HDNET converage also.
FOX - 62-68%

For some reason my locals get better around 5 pm for reception. At that time I get no dropouts, but around 4pm i seem to get some dropouts.

WRAL is great. The best HD pic that I have ever seen. Local news in HD. Wonderful.

First commercial DTV station, even ENG (News gathering) is done in HD. They wrote the book that all of us broadcasters read (if not follow).

PAX - on air, not seen
PBS - WVIA daytime 4 SD nite 1080I HD ch 44-1,2,3,4
WB - Unknown

WBRE and WYOU are VHF channels for DTV and the rest are UHF. WNEP is on the top of a tower (Fox 56's main tower) FOX is 50 feet up with very low power on WBRE's tower(they forgot to lease space on their main tower, but will be there for full power)
WBRE AND WYOU are on the WYOU tower at the 500 foot level (half height) and about 1kw which covers one quadrant of the DMA and will be full power higher up in 2005.

I live 15 miles away from the antenna farm and pick up WNEP, WBRE, WYOU and WVIA with signals from the low to mid 80's on the 811. (On my old DTC110 this was 75 to 80). I have a V/U rooftop antenna.

DOES ANYONE HAVE THIS PROBLEM
811
**************************
I have one station (KABC-DT UHF:53) which when you turn to it... doesn't lock. The error comes up. But if you let it sit for a few minutes to 1/2 hour or.. whenever it feels like it.. It tunes in at a strong signal of 80+
I DON'T GET IT... kabc is on the same mountain as the rest of my stations, none of which have a problem locking in.
PLEASE HELP THIS REALLY SUCKS!

cokeswigga:
I have the same problem in NH trying to get Channel 9, It might be that htey aren't always transmitting at full power or there is something interfering with there frequency or it could be the tuner doesn't pull in certain channels well.

a little fyi for everyone,

I stumbled across this site
http://www.2150.com/broadcast/

it's a lot more detailed than antennaweb, it requires more input, but it gives you distances to the tower, power output, and also how the transmission is focused.

I was trying to figure out why I wasn't receiving some station in HD and this site gave me the answers.
