the vid card i have ATI 9800pro 256meg card i bought the day they where released about 1 year ago and paid about 500 for the card us. The picture quality at 1080i on the desktop is very small and hard to read but don't notice any interlacing quality concerns and it works fine for what i use it for mainly movies, divx, xvid, and game playback and i also have the card hooked up to the monitor at the same time so i can see the monitor fine for moving around windows and the like.

My monitor is 21" capable of 2048x1536 res at 85hz refresh.

I mainly use the pc to tv for the above games and movies is all everything else i just use the monitor in general.

also yes the specs on the T2 HD version are extreme for pc requirments.

Here is the spec system i use:

P4 2.4c Oced @ 3.3ghz
1 gig geil golden dragon pc3500 @ 275fsb dual channel mode
ATI 9800 pro 256meg oced to 400/365

When i first got the film and tried to play it the dvd player i had was only a 4x and would not even read the data from the dvd fast enough so i found the directory with the wmv files in it and extracted all like 6 gig to the pc hard and watched from there bypassing the dvd drive. I have gotten a 16x dvd drive and still find it hard to fast forward and rewind without major wait time.

I know the film to play at 24fps needs to process about 9mb per sec to keep the film going and steady.

Not really. It just has bad gameplay and it's VERY REPETITIVE. BTW, I don't think Panzer Dragoon is 1080i. I think it's Dragon's Lair and MX Unleashed that are 1080i. EAs most recent bMLB game is 720p and look great also. Syberia is the most beautiful console game ever. It's worth the rental to just play through and enjoy the scenery.

Syberia wore me out. I don't mind trying figure puzzles out but it got asurd in addition I lost my game save twice at the School with the birds due an x-box freeze up.

The 1080i was cool though.

XBOX 1080i success

Xbox HDTV T2 update
Well the xbox is fully modded with linux and media players. It puts out 480p equivalent to my current progressive scan DVD player. It plays all the media I had burn previousily that the current DVD player could not read.

-480p/media compatibility is a success!

There is a program called Xbox Media Center that has an "about XBMC" video.
I watched it in 1080i at 60Hz.

XBOX HD video compability - Success!

For T2, I will probably have to stream it to the XBOX from a PC.
Niether Blockbuster or Hollywood video has it for rent.

T2 on xbox update

The xbox with XBMC will upconvert DVDs to 720P and 1080i.

The 720p looks good (much better than some HBO-HD/Max HD upconverts), the 1080i upconvert not good.

I will not be able to run T2 High def wm9 on the xbox due to DRM. XBMC may or may not add this capability in the future.

How do you bypass the drive? I am trying to do the same thing.

to play the T2 hd version from your hard forst you have to get media rights from microsoft so run the dvd from your dvd rom first to gain rights to the movie once the movie starts to play from your dvd drive then stop the movie and goto the following dir within the dvd and dump all contents to your hard drive here is the dir on the dvd rom:

F:\common\win\lang\en\t2x\esource this is where the hd movie files are kept and can be transfered to the pc from here all that needs to be transfered are the following files:

T2_Part1.wmv 2gig about
T2_Part2.wmv 2gig about
T2_Part3.wmv 2gig about
T2_Part4.wmv 870meg about

then after all files are on the hard you can play them using either wmp9 or other dvd programs that work with using wmp9 codec.

hope this helps

Dear All

I ve been waiting for months to have my copy of T2-HD, and now that I got it from amazon i find myself living for a while in south america, and somehow the damn DRM does not le me acquire the license.

The routine stalls at the window that says "loading ..please wait"..and stays there for ever.

Could it be due to territorial considerations?..if that is the case..how does the damn DRM finds out that i am not in the USA?...I think of two posilibilities: my IP (starts with 200. here, it woud start with 66 in the US) and my OS version (it is XP in spanish here). Do you know for sure how it does it?

I have tried conecting via dial up to my ISP in the US (that gives me an IP that starts with 66) but still the same....the routine stalls in the same place and sometimes even disconects the internet connection.

I dont think I have any hw issue. My procesor is a P4 3G, 512M ram, DVD is 16X, ATI 9800 pro video card, display is set at 1600 x 1200, etc.

Please help me !!!!!!!

thanks in advance

alfred
