Buckets don't offer the torsional resistance that something with a wider stance offers. They also don't work very well on un-level and/or non-flat surfaces (though neither do NPRMs or pallets).

Some sort of three-footed contraption is probably best for all conditions.

This is largely temp. Plan is to perhaps eventually throw it on a ground pole, may be adding a motor to the setup as I already find the switching between the 2 satellites I like, G17 and SES3 tedious.
 
FTARock20, I have used that type of mount for motorized setups too, but keeping the mount level is a must. Tnx for the kudos and enjoy FTA.
