I've recently "inherited" a cable system in my town. It is ran by the local government and our previous tech left his position with us and as the IT guy I was asked to look into fixing things and upgrading the entire system.
I've had a lot of research to do in trying to figure out how everything works and what may be needed to upgrade the system. It's currently running on C-Band and we want to do a hybrid Analog/Digital system, using C and Ku Bands.
Almost everything I have searched for, from fiberglass dishes (which I thought we had, but don't) to corotors, lnbs and DSR-4400s ended up bringing me to this site. On top of learning about the entire Cable Plant, I've also picked up an interest in the FTA world... which means I'll be spending more money in the future. Doh!
