anytime the govt is flapping there lips there lying . i don't think they will care... i think OTA will be dead in time. after the lawsuit i don't think LG will cave in either!!!

Broadcasters bungled free antenna TV. Now they want a bailout?

The FCC will consider rules to phase out ATSC 1.0 and mandate ATSC 3.0 adoption, but its use of DRM has alienated pretty much everyone.

In my opinion this is not or should not be about DRM it's insignificant really, it's about eliminating the competition known as FREE OVER THE AIR TV.
I go back to the mid to latter eighties when we first received cable TV!! Reasonable monthly cost, a few channels (maybe 20)!

Then greed over! When we dropped cable (cut the cord) approx. 10 to 12 years ago, we were paying a few $$ short of $200/mo. We probably were getting 300 plus channels with many many many commercials AND they were also able to collect a service fee!!

We don't need 4K TV, can't tell the difference between 480 or 1080 as it is! How much more internet bandwidth will be required or additional internet costs?? I will never pay for cable, satellite or internet that allow them to charge us a service fee and yet have unlimited commercials!!

I agree with all of your post. I also feel that only having 6 big players without regulation has helped the skyrocketing bills!....They just keep gobbling up anything they can, till whats left?
