Saw this over on "Security Now" on TWiT: Android OS uses Hayes AT Commands to communicate over USB, potentially risking your phone's security.

It is a decided superset of the modem commands as Samsung has implemented over 1,200 AT commands!

These include peeking and poking RAM as well as higher level stuff.

I bet it also does "Real" 5G instead of the "FauxG" that AT&T has some of their handsets indicate...

IIRC, Motorola has been shipping a true 5G capable phone for a while now so I'm guessing your referring specifically to the S10s.
Well. . Verizon says that you need 5g SERVICE to get real 5g...that will take time...the focus is on fixed 5g

The public network doesn't have to exist to demonstrate the technology.

Of course Verizon is going to insist that you need to subscribe to their version of 5G, but the 5G standard was developed so that everyone could eventually offer true 5G service if they chose.

The Moto Z3 with a true 5G adapter is not a prototype. They've been available to mortals for a while as I stated.

Yeah I would not worry to much about 5G the time they even get 5G truly working in enough markets there will be plenty of devices that will support it. The S10 will have a 5G version but by the time they get it really working the S12 will probably be out by then so it's going to take a couple of years before they get anything real stable up and going.

It appears that LG's V50 ThinQ is 5G capable and is going to be announced Feb 24. Supposedly it's going to be a Sprint offering. They're all jumping on the non-existent bandwagon.
