Ive only had YTTV go down once that I can remember in the year and a half (or two) that I have had it. It is much less fragile in that regard than any service I have used, sat included.

I've had it for over a year and have never noticed an outage. Solid as a rock as far as I have seen.
I could get live programming last night but no recordings or home screen on my Roku like everyone else. I switched over to the LGTV YTTV app and everything was fine.
I'll have to search for the link, but as of yesterday (I think), yttv is available in every tv market.

I did like the DTV now look, the damn buffering is what killed it for me.
PS Vue is great though.
I didn't realize how bad PS Vue's buffering was for me until I tried YouTube TV. I thought a certain amount was "normal," and better than some of the nightmare stories I'd been hearing about with Sling, DTVN, and the new Hulu Live TV. I was watching PS Vue on Sony's flagship device, the PS4 (the first one to offer PS Vue and the one with the richest feature set), using a wired connection to a 50 Mbps internet connection at the time (short distance to router), and living within 20-minutes' driving distance of Sony's North American headquarters (I don't know if the PS Vue servers are anywhere near here, but I imagine it was tested out here extensively.) At any rate, I don't think I could ever go back to PS Vue, unless they've made massive improvements on the performance, reliability, and stability side.
Good news: Youtube TV inked a deal with Discovery-Scripps, bringing 8 new channels to the service today.

I'm bummed that they didn't just put the new channels (none of which I want) in an add-on package and keep the price down. However, this official post from YTTV doesn't say anything about people who are grandfathered at the $35/mo price. It just says "existing customers." Given YTTV's heavy marketing push and growth into every market nationwide in the past year, I would suspect the "grandfathered" people are a relatively small and dwindling subset of all existing customers, so I wouldn't assume that "existing customers" automatically includes the original grandfathered people.
That's a big bump for grandfathered users. I am still paying $35 for the service. It is quite reliable and big enough for my household of 3.
I'm one of those grandfathered $35 customers. I'll let you all know if our bill goes up.
Unfortunately I've been able to confirm that grandfathered users are not staying at the original price, according to YTTV's Twitter post response:

Ouch.... 15/month increase for people grandfathered at 35.... and it doesn't include Viacom and A&E for people that rely on YTTV and Philo... so people with both most likely will still need both.

YTTV couldn't have handled this worse for legacy customers. A 42% price increase for 8 channels most of us don't really need (or we wouldn't be with YTTV in the first place) and not even a $5 discount or extended grace period. Without grandfathered pricing. there's nothing stopping me from shopping around.
Well, there were predictions that companies would follow Directv's lead by handing large rate increases to their customers, and this sure does like like those predictions were accurate. The days of cheap streaming are now over.
This doesn't quite rise to the level of DirecTV Now's recent changes. At least YTTV is adding popular channels and not dropping them while also raising prices. If I was at the $40 price point for YTTV and subbing to Philo to get these particular channels, I'd be happy for this change. With that said, with PS Vue at $50 for the Core Plan and the much user-friendlier experience I get with my PS4 media remote (or Alexa voice controls via FireTV), not to mention the NFL Network, a switch is a lot more tempting.
