Thumb Drive as EHD

Can a zip drive/thumb drive/flash drive be used as an external hard drive for the ViP 722, so that downloaded movies can be transfered to another in-home ViP 722 for viewing?

No, in general. First, likely too slow. Second, Dish set a lower limit on the drive size, like 32 or 64GB and will probably raise it and making it prohibitively expensive. Third, Dish may differentiate between flash drives and HD drives as in the photos/recordings menu.
