Important Announcement: Titanium Satellite ASC1 PC based software for loading firmware upgrades and editing, archiving and sharing custom satellite lists is now available. Download and play with the editor to customize a sample satellite list based on the satellites visible from your location. Save a csv file of your current satellite receiver's satellite list, edit and be ready import into the ASC1 when it becomes available in the next few weeks!

The ASC1 Satellite Dish Antenna and Polarity Skew Controller is the first motor controller to allow the user to customize or update satellite names, direct input of positioner counts, fine-tune the polarity skew offsets for each polarity, assign DiSeqC 1.2 motor positions and most importantly, back-up and load positioner data. Never again will you have to re-enter and aim the dish for each satellite position after a factory reset!

Standard RS-232 type port connects the ASC1 Loader Editor v1.3 to the ASC1 controller for quick upgrades and User Database up/downloads. The firmware upgrades will provide new exciting features and functions as we work with 3rd party developers and allow users to write their own interfaces. You are now able to download, archive, edit, upload share the controller satellite list data!

User Database files are simple csv (comma-separated values) files, which can often be imported and exported from many channel editor softwares. Examples of STB editors with csv file output that I regularly use are Channel Master for legacy receivers and MediaBox Editor Studio. If you wish the ultimate in sorting and other list management of the satellite names, positioner and polarity skew set-up; open the saved ASC1 csv file in Excel, OpenOffice or even Notepad! When you are done save the file back to the ASC1 and/or save a archived file for back-up.

ASC1_CSV_Notepad.jpg

The csv file format is 99 rows formatted: xxxxxxxxxxxxxxx, xxxx,xx,xx

Column 1: Satellite Name - 15 characters alphanumeric characters (Notice in the examples, I used an orbital position first then the actual satellite name)
Column 2: Positioner Sensor Count - 4 digits for the Positioner Sensor Count (0000 - 4999)
Column 3: Vertical Polarity Skew Offset - 1 or 2 digits in degrees (0 - 90)
Column 4: Horizontal Polarity Skew Offset - 1 or 2 digits in degrees (0 - 90)

Take the software for a spin and see how easy it will be to manage your ASC1 controller. Download and upzip the files. Launch the ASC1 Loader Editor program from the same file containing the two QT dll extensions. Read the satellite list file, edit and save. You may also open the satellite list in Excel, OpenOffice or Notepad. When using other applications to edit, save the file as a csv with only commas between the fields. This is a csv file, not xls or other data format. Do not tab or use quotation marks.

Operation and programming is quite easy and mostly self explanatory. The expanded Owner's Manual and PC Loader / Editor Guide will be posted later this week along with a few videos over the next few weeks. Your feedback is appreciated!
