I am not sure if this info can influence our FTA hobby. I could not get a link, but took 2 photos about this news.
Cheers, polgyver

Right, when does the Jewish collaboration connection come in?

What is "atmospheric turbulence"? I've never heard of "the atmosphere" affecting sat comms, other than rain and Ku. A t-storm won't affect laser?

We did some green laser experiments in the Navy. Mixed results. Google, err, "bing" it for more info.

Note they said nothing about later signal duration.

Suffice it to say, I have this large salt block.

Laser wavelength will not get through clouds, fog, rain and snow.

I am pretty much sceptical of Chinese state owned press media for misinformation on science breakthrough on satellite Laser beam punching through Earth's atmosphere with clouds and other things except clear sky over long path.🙄

So it's pretty much moot as this time.🙄😛 :hatsoff

Sigh. Ever make a phone call, as we did many years ago, via satellite? Plenty delays.

Geo fine for TV, data transfers and many other things. Barely manageable for voice. Certainly not so good for gaming, or even time crucial stock trades.

Two way communications are possible but nobody's number one choice.
