I received my Trimax 2500 today. While its a nice toy it really wasn't what I thought it would be.
My dream was to have a device (?? SuperBuddy ?? ) that I could connect to the satelite and and have it tell me what satellite I am on with out me having to do any thinking.
This on the other hand required me to manually enter the transponders and the satellites by hand. Thank god for the serial interface on my computer.
I think for a hobbiest such as myself I will be fine because I can afford to dink around and learn as I go, however that being said, if I where a professional installer this isn't the tool I would buy.
In all fairness the spectrum analyzer did help me out when I needed to adjust my dish. For those of you are ham radio operators the spectrum analyzer on the Trimax is more like the Icom 746 (Original) implementation vs the Icom 756 Pro2 (Fast scanning / real time).
Hope that helps.
