Turbo HD Question

I have the Turbo HD gold package. A buddy gave me his old DN301 receiver. From what I have heard it won't work with the Eastern Arc Sat. But I am interested in hooking it up in my travel trailor. I have an old dish 500 sat laying around. Will DN let me activate this receiver or not since im on the turbo hd package? Any help would be great.

You won't get much on it if you do not add some type of sd programing.
