A day or so ago I noticed TVLAND on channel 106 had disappeared.
Dish Outdoors, Dish Tailgator circa 2021, and Wally.

Called Dish (90 minute phone call)

Did all resets... download Guide etc. etc...
Currently I can only connect to Satellite 61.5... but never had problem before with stations from that satellite.
from this Channel "Card" from dish TVLAND is on Sat. 61.5 and on my "Flex" package.
also I find going back to 2022 September...

Support kept telling me that TVLAND was NEVER on 61.5 satellite... yet I have been getting it there since 2021
when I was in difficult locations. And noted on the above documents.

I haven't found anybody else talking about this... any ideas ?
thanks...

Support did say something about 72... but what Satellite is that exactly.
My Tailgator/Wally only gets 61.5 Satellite (echostar) on the eastern sky's .
I travel along the east coast Maryland to the Outer Banks full time.
As mentioned... been getting on 61.5.... and there is no way to cue in satellite 72
in the Wally.

Unless there is a firmware update I don't think I can get 72 or 71.7...
not finding much info of TVLand on those satellites.. the links I posted above show on 61.5 east and 119 west arcs.
Here is another link that gets updated (supposedly) every day....
Link --> uplink.jameslong.name/channels.html <-- Link showing the same but also transponders.
Obviously we have different units and receivers...
Do you know the "name" of that satellite you say is "72"
Sat 61.5 is Echostar15/16 from what I can tell.

I was receiving the 61.5 and 72.7 eastern arc sats on my previous VIP 2llK and currently on a Hoppwer w/sling. The 77 sat is no longer in Dish service for CONUS coverage. The james long charts have been out of date for about 2 years now. He's no longer able to update them. The 72.7 satellite is the NIMIQ 5 operated by Telesat Canada with it's full capacity leased to Echostar/Dish since 2015.

Well I guess my Dish Tailgator (KING DT4450) and Wally are not capable of getting satellite 72.7 .
There is no settings to scan for it.
I did check my firmware and it is up to date.
And I guess TVLand is off of 61.5

Thank you for the info on the satellite...

The King DT4450 is only capable of receiving a hybrid arc using the 61.5, 110, and 119 sats. The full western arc is currently the 110, 119, and 129 sats, and the eastern arc is the 61.5 and 72.7 sats. If you're Tailgater is seeing the 110 and 119 sats, TVLAND should be available on channel 106.

Your other dish, I'm guessing is a 1000.2 with a dual eastern arc LNBF, will receive the 61.5 and 72.7 sats.

-->NYDutch....
I only have the Tailgator dish outdoors/on the go setup .
I kind of knew the other info you posted but it is thorough and will help others if they are only getting 61.5.
I am full time on the road... behind me is a big tree, but an open lot. It may become occupied...
IE: I tried to move the dish behind the tree earlier just to test as my phone app says I have a clear shot
at the western satellites. I got the satellites but it didn't acquire the signal to get TV...
We have storms moving through (Maryland) so that might be the problem.
Or was just "stuck" or something. When I moved it back to the front of my trailer to get
61.5 got the signal and TV right away.
But if somebody moves in behind me all attempts back there won't work anyway.

The western satellites seem to be a lot lower in the sky.
When the weather clears up I'll try moving to the back again... and testing.

I wake up super early in the morning... and don't really watch TV... just have it on in the
background as I'm on the internet. Getting a little burned out on Frasier... and they
started putting Seinfeld on TVLand :)
And the Hallmark channel (Fraiser) starts running Xmas shows in October in place of Frasier and Cheers.

But... in this saga... I have concerns what also might go from Echostar 61.5...
I leave here in September... so the rest of my fall and winter I will have access to the Western arc.

Thanks for your time... life on the road !

If your tailgater can receive 61.5 then it can also receive 119 and 110. You need to be on those satellites to get all your channel. If 61.5 is all you've ever been getting your missing half your channels you're paying for.

I am totally mobile traveling along the mid Atlantic.
So some places I have all the sats.... other just the two 110 and 119 western.
And a couiple places through a small hole in the trees only 61.5 eastern.
Here... for the last and two more months... 61.5 eastern was my original placement
of the dish because it was a good place out of the way lawnmowers etc.
I was happy with those channels until they dropped TVLand from 61.5 sat.
And now maybe others... but that's for the future.

I stay at state, national parks, koa's, private etc... a typical RVer on the road
full time. And I usually stay at the same spot at each location. All located
near the (salt) water (hint hint my user name). Some have trees.
Here... well there is big beautiful tree that gives afternoon shade for the summer.
Anyway....
I moved the Tailgater to the back of my lot and have the western arc 110,119,129.
The lot behind me is empty.... and hopefully if a "huge" Rv does move in I still have
a hole in the sky for the sats I am now getting.
Some of the Rv's are so tall I swear they must have elevators to reach the grand ballroom.

Currently I don't have "local" channels... as I don't have 61.5 eastern arc. Not sure how true the locals are only on 61.5 . Because I have been
at places only getting 110 and 119 sats, and I had the locals.
So my locals will probably come around eventually.

For now I am content as I have the channels I want... TVland etc...
And my big nice tree for shade in the summer heat :)
how is it that song goes...
"You can't always get what you want.... but you get what you need."

Some areas have locals on 110 and some on 61.5 and a few have both like where I live with sd locals on 110 and hd on 61.5. If you aren't receiving them with the 110 then you are in a market that only receives them on the 61.5.

Thank you for the clarification.
So... on the phone again this morning with Dish.
With the equipment in the "new" location of Western arc only..
No local tv stations on 110, 119, or 129.
I am using the Norfolk, Va market.

I am in the same campsite as last year. And had my
market set as Washington, D.C. Had TVLand and Locals.
But the equipment was not set at the back of the campsite facing west.
I was on eastern 61.5 with the equipment at the front of the campsite.

I don't know if my "locals" were available on the Western arc last year D.C. market.

Last year in September... I was in a different location using the D.C. market,
and only 110 and 119 and I had my locals, ie: no eastern 61.5.
As a matter of fact... this Spring I was at that same location with the Norfolk
market and still had locals on 110 or 119 (ie: no 61.5).

Today on the phone with Dish, I did not try to change my local market to D.C.
I had enough... I really don't care about locals until football season.
Norfolk and D.C. markets carry Redskins/Commanders. Even then it is only more of a tradition to watch..
I move again in September back to that location and will try again.
Where I only get 110 and 119 but it worked before.

I wish there was a definitive documentation as to a "change log"
for the satellites. Would save me the frustration.

Today I cancelled my local subscription.

Last April, the Roanoke, VA locals were on a 110 sat CONUS beam. I don't what's changed recently though. Or you could switch to a full sized manually aimed dish and get either arc in full when the LOS permits.

I'm showing locals for that DMA on either 61.5 transp 19 or 110 transp 29. Not sure why yours isn't coming in. Now you had said that you were "only" getting 61.5? Or did I read that wrong.....?

If I put the equipment at the front of Rv... as I had when I got here a month ago...
I only got 61.5 because the Western arc is blocked by a tree. I had my locals on 61.5 and TVLand,
and content with the other channels I had.
Then a few days ago TVLand was removed (channel 106) from 61.5.... thus the saga began.

I found a spot to the rear of my Rv... that only gives me the Western arc channels..
And thus got back TVLand... after waiting a day hoping the locals would come...
I called Dish today... did all the "work" arounds.... we looked at the sats and transponders...
I can't remember (now) what sat... but nothing worked.
Right now with the Western arc... I checked 110 trans 29 and it is super low signal at 7.
Western arc I get sats 110, 119, 129 .

Right now.. I am 75 miles from the Atlantic Ocean. Although the Chesapeake Bay is just down the road. Maybe the Western arc channels are lower in the sky than you are in Ohio causing a degradation in signal. But I have no idea if that is a scenario for signal loss.

thanks anyway for your thoughts...

Thanks NYDutch.... but TV is not important, or monetary, for me to put any more effort into Dish.
And I really don't have any more room to carry around a "full" sized dish...
Maybe there is some shifting around as was discussed on that other website pertaining to mpeg2 and mpeg4 transitioning.
If only they hadn't taken TVLand off 61.5... oh well.
