Two 622's, one phone line??

Yeah, but what surge protectors are DishComm approved?

Between E*, SatGuys and DBStalk.com I haven't found an answer to that question.

Actually the only one I see Dish showing on their site will not work with DIshComm. However DishComm is really HomePlug. There are a couple HomePlug approved surge protectors.

I just got a response from the Executive CEO office.

Anything that's Homelink compatible will work.

What sucks is the cheapest UPS that has a Homelink outlet is $100. :(

What advantage is Homelink? If all it does is phone line share, I will put my two 622s back on surge protectors....

How often does the 622 needs to be connected to the phone line?

If the phone jack is across the room, can I simply connect it once a month and force it to manually it dial DISH and be done with it for the rest of the month, without incurring $5 fee?

Good question.

I am thinking about doing the same since a surge protector that works with DishComm is not cheap.
