u bolt question

When using an 1 5/8 pole, would a 1 11/16 u bolt give a more secure and snug fit than a 1 5/8 u bolt? How about a 1 3/4?

A directv will mount directly on the 1 and 5/8 inch pole

i have to have two dishes, one for the 72.5 bird and the other for the 101 bird. I was going to just slide the 72.5 dish on top leaving off the mounting bracket and go down about a foot and clamp the other dish(101) to the pole using u bolts.

Ok, next question. Is 1 5/8 muffler clamps the best way to go? I looked at Lowe's and all they have are 1 11/16 and 1 3/4. By the way i'm using a 1 1/4 galvanized steel water pipe for the duribilty.

ive seen u bolt clamps at wal mart but if you can get the muffler clamp around the mount and pole I would probably go with the muffler clamps

Go to Auto Zone or Advance. They have 1-5/8" muffler clamps both with 5/16" amd heavy duty with 3/8" nuts.
