Is there a way to get a new receiver and activate it without adding an additional contract commitment? I have two old receivers that I own, and would like to replace them with new, but when I call DTV and try to order, they tell me I have to commit to an additional 24 months. Is there a way around this? I have had several issues with DTV in the last year, and I don't really want to add any commitment.

Sounds like you think since you own old equipment you're entitled to new equipment without any new commitment. Once they subsidize your new equipment you're opening up a new two year commitment. No way around this.

As long as they were on your account to begin with. no comittment.... Now if they were on another account before and never on your current account comittment.
