Upgrading to HD - install and equipment questions.

Hi everyone,

I'm in Massachusetts. Have current Dish service and want to upgrade to HD.

I'd like to do the install myself. I installed the existing setup with your help years ago.

I'm planning on going with 2 Solo VIP 211K boxes.

I currently have a Dish 500 dish.

I have a couple questions.

1. Do I need to change the dish to receive HD.
2. Will the HD dish need to be mounted in a different location?
3. Which satellites am I using? 61.5°, 72.7° and 77? I see dishes on Ebay but many are listing 110, 119 and 129 in the description. Will those not work in my area?


Any recommendations would be greatly appreciated.

1. Yes
2. Depends on line of sight, if you can get the Eastern Arc from the current location then you don't need to move it.
3. The 110, 119, 129 is the old 1000.2 dish, for Eastern Arc you need 1000.4.
