Oh, and good news for all of you that like to watch the hdtv demo channel!!! It running around 19Mbit/s at 1920x1080i! Glad they know where to concentrate the quality ;)

Also, FOOD left 61.5W TP20 in the NIT, but the video channel is still on TP20. I'm assuming they just forgot to un-uplink the channel to TP20. Both are still mpeg2.

Exactly same thing they did with HGTV HD except for the MPEG2 part ;)

It's just remapping from 222 to 84 for only those ppl who have KTXS-12, KTAB-32, KRBC-9, KXVA-15, KPCB-17, KTES-40, PBS-60.
Congrats ! :)

I have a PBS mapped to 60, HSN mapped to 84 and a digital sub channel of ABC mapped to channel 11. This is in the Wichita Falls, TX DMA.

Guess again. It is being authorized by the main channel for all subs which qualify for 222 HSN. :)

It is working in the east, west, north, south and central, even without a Locals subscription. :)

Is it only the 61.5 Starz, NFL, HGHD and upcoming FOOD HD that are MPEG-4? Are the 129 channels still the ole MPEG-2 with MPEG-4 headers?

Is all the Alaska and Hawaii HD true MPEG-4?

Great That is the channel That allowed me to get my 61.5 back after my move I told them that my children liked watching the "Aquarium Channel" (maybe it was CBSHD also).

BTW I am hearing the bandwidth on the Demo Channel may have been raised due to complaints from Sears who uses the demo channel as it's demo channel.

Too bad our complaints fall on deaf ears. I'm trying to watch Starz right now and it is hard to watch with all the blocking.

I've heard of this demo channel before but have yet to be able to find it. Is this something that normal consumers can receive or is it just for retailers?

Why in the hell would they do that? That is the 1st channel I turn on to show someone what HDTV looks like.

If it made room for more HD, I'd be for it. Back when they only had a few HD channels, it was nice to show off another channel of HD, but now its just taking up space. Moving it to 105 allows the retailers who are using it to keep using it, and then they can add something else to 61.5.

Question for Scott

Scott,
Hi. Hope you don't mind me asking but might you be able to recommend any satellite installers in CT, preferalby Ffld. or Litchfield counties, that might do FTA system installations? Haven't located anyone yet and am asking you, since you're in the area. Am new to it...
Thanks!
