...On a different note, Didn't they already do press releases when CNN-HD and later SciFi and USA HD were turned on?

Yup, they were on a Press Release dated April 18. Which begs the question, was Dish gonna hold them off til the big bang as well, but gave into demand; was the big bang suppose to happen earlier; or they just want to double milk those three for good PR. (or with any luck for our friends in Alaska, maybe today is the day)

Mine actually has a 4:3 setting which works wonderfully for History & A&E, but the Turner/TBS panoramic stretch still looks wrong even in 4:3 :(
It is impossible to get that "smart" stretch to look right. I wish they would stop using it. I will not watch any channel using it.

not sure if you guys have seen this:

Dang!

Another afternoon stuck pounding the refresh button waiting for the next uplink report! No complaints though! :up

:D LOL

On a different note, Didn't they already do press releases when CNN-HD and later SciFi and USA HD were turned on? Interesting they include them again in this list of channels turned on today.

I was asking the same thing. There has not been a official press release from Dish Network. If you look at the press releases, all have been about their 100/100 remains on track or recent HD locals. This is the official release of those channels unless someone can find that press release. Should be a great day.

I think we'd have better luck looking at the EPG (if home) or refreshing the regular forum.

Last time (CNN-HD, USA-HD, SciFi-HD) the info appeared in the general forum way before the uplink report was posted (IIRC).

It does say "beginning" May 12, so this is now the official definition of SOON! The only ones with definite launch dates are the two RSN's, the rest "begin" launching May 12.
