Fits in with what I posted yesterday about the "8HD1" test channel. Looks like Dish is getting ready to again experiment with 8 HDs on one TP, at least for E11.

Also, what's with the 110 HDs being added to the eastern arc? I thought they were already there. Perhaps a prelude to the MPEG4 transition on 110.

And let me second the question on Echostar 10 capacity. If there was space for those locals on E10 before, why were they on 148 for so long?

All and all, another ho hum Wednesday uplink. At least next week will bring some HD LiLs.

In order to save the elves money by keeping their monthly bills down, Charlie is trying to work out the best deal he can. In the meantime, viewers at the North Pole can watch the Easter Bunny channel on free preview.

Just guessing, but maybe they want to use Rainbow-1 in all spotbeam mode in the future, so they're duplicating all the CONUS channels on one of the CONUS birds. Then when everyone has a Dish 1000.4, they'll take them off 61.5.
