Using a cell phone for phone line DirecTV DishNetwork

Short answer is no...

The longer answer is nope.

Either one will work without a phone line connected, except for ordering PPV with your remote. In addition, Dish charges the customer $5.00/month for each receiver NOT connected to a land based phone line.
 
Thanks Sam. I have seen some adapters used for individual phones but not a universal one. Does this one have a dial tone of any kind? it is my understanding that DISH receivers look for a dial tone. But if you have seen this work that is probably wrong.

This only applies to the Dual-Tuner models. Additional single tuners on an acc. have a 5 dollar charge if they have the phone line or not.
