You posted under the Dish Hopper Zone. The Genie is DirecTV. Might be better to post here. Click on the bold blue to take you there.

For the Hopper, you could have a dish, etc, setup in two locations and carry the Hopper between each, so long as you don't have active receivers at more than one location.

A Genie requires a swm setup. The old dishes won't work without some re-engineering.
