We just got our first HD receiver -- the ViP 612 -- hooked up to our HD tv. Before the HD receiver, closed captioning was handled through the tv set. We could simply press the tv mute button to turn captions on and off (we do not use tv audio, it's routed through sound system, so tv volume is always set to zero).

Now that our nifty new HD receiver is hooked up, Closed Captions are handed by the ViP 612 instead of the TV. When you check the menus on the TV, the captioning options are even greyed out. It doesn't seem that you can release control of the CC back to to the television.

What used to be a simple one-button action on the remote has become a 6-8 button process to turn CC on and off via the satellite. I'm not seeing a CC shortcut button on the remote. Is there a way to program one? Or is there a shortcut I don't know about? Thanks!!
