VIP 722 Dying?

My 622 will display the title bar but will not display a picture. Any thoughts on what is causing this problem? Thank you-in the meantime I will sign up for the warranty coverage.

Smart card problem - check under Counters how many services authorized for your DVR.

Well crud. Now it won't even display a picture on the TV. If I unplug it and plug it back in, it sounds like it is booting up but nothing displays on the TV. The TV 1 light does not light up any more either.

KAB - How did the Techs get you back up where you could at least watch TV?

Remove the smart card, then put it back in. Do another reset (or two).
It takes a while for the "acquiring" phase to begin.

It's an internal smart card so I can't remove it. But after holding power in a few times and waiting about 10 minutes it finally goes to live TV. This morning it said the hard drive had to be cleaned "formatted". I am hoping once that is done running I can at least write down my timers.

I think clean format is going to clean off all of your timers, recordings etc. It will be like it was fresh out of the box.

And it's definitely first call to see your disk is start going downhill.
