ViP222k receiver antenna

Immediately following install on 12/2 remote would not operate TV2. About 3 channel changes, then stuck on channel, could access no functions of remote (including 0 for system wizard.) TEch's 3rd appearance today; receiver antenna had been connected to back of receiver (which is in ent. ctr. cabinet); he d/c'd antenna from receiver, ran small cable outside cabinet, and voila looks like that fixed this problem. (Time will tell for how long.) After I ?'d connection, he did secure this small cable using a tie to other 2 cables. Is there a better, more stable, e.g. 'permanent' way to mount the receiver antenna? Or d'ya think it will be ok the way it is? (I'm concerned about future movement, and then losing functions again.

222K receivers are good for that kind of problem. leave the ant just the way it is since it is working.
