VIP622 resolution pass through

I switch my 622 to 720p sometimes for sports for channels that are native 720p because there is less motion blurring. It would be nice if this was done automatically.

"Pass-through" means "don't process the signal or apply the conversion logic to it". Sure the chipset will do some processing but leave out the major portion. Can the Broadcom chipset do this ?? I'm sure P Smith has an idea....
