In his article on Thursday Nov 2 in the Wall St Journal, the Personal Technology columnist Walt Mossberg mentioned that he had to get rid of his DirecTV for Comcast cable because "the trees in our yard blocked the high-definition satellite signal -- which is beamed separately from another position in the sky."

I assume he lives in the NY-NJ area - but isn't the MPEG-4 HDTV locals in that area transmitted on 99 and 103 - thus essentially the same position in the sky as the 101 direction in which his old dish was probably aimed.

Did he get bad advice or am I missing something?

Corrected: I see that he lists his WSJ office as Washington DC.
