It could matter, many people would not want to sell their equipment to known hackers.

I guess it isn't so much of a question of whether the person is a hacker or not, but a question of which country will the 6000 get shipped to. If you ship to the US, you can never tell if the person is a hacker or not. But if you ship outside the country, well, are there legitimate 6000 uses outside of the US?
